If two people access a QB file on Dropbox at the same time Dropbox will make a copy of the file and give that to the 2nd user. ![]() You will no longer be working on one file and there's no way to "merge" the changes. ![]() With 2019 it should detect that two writes are attempted and warn you but this is more tested with iCloud - Dropbox can change how it works, etc. There used to be a lock file that would block the 2nd access but now its supposed to be detected by the OS and reported back as a conflict. In any event accessing a QuickBooks file over a local network is not advised as the network file sharing system can have issues with Apple's CoreData - something that Apple has documented and that involves locking mechanisms. How bad this is depends on the network file sharing used. The proper way to share a file among two users on a local network is via the Multiuser application. That will always work and the two can use the file at the same time.The Reconciliation Discrepancy Report allows you to easily identify, and reconcile, discrepancies between your bank statement and QuickBooks records since your last monthly reconciliation.
